URGENT – Sandpiper – Temporary Propane Tanks
As you know, Sandpiper has begun the underground gas line conversion on the North end of The Parke. Many owners have called concerned with the method of transferring propane from the temporary tanks to the home’s supply lines. Sandpiper is using long black hoses to bring the gas from the tanks to the homes. These black hoses lay in the grass and are very hard to detect. Therefore, The Parke is providing orange utility flags (little orange flags on a 24″ metal pole) to owners who currently have the temporary propane tanks and lines installed. Please take a few of these flags to mark the area of the hose. If there is a lot of slack in the hose, try to coil the hose into a shorter run in the grass. However, if you are uncomfortable doing this, please contact the Association Staff. There are resident volunteers that will assist you with this task.
This action is to protect the Association’s Member’s houses and the Association’s landscapers from an accidental issue that could be very dangerous. However, the responsibility really lies with Sandpiper, but the Association understands that this is an urgent issue and cannot rely on a timely response from Sandpiper.
The orange utility flags are in the Mail Pavilion and available through an “honor” system. Please only take what you need IF you have the tanks. If you do not have tanks, please do not take the flags. When the tanks are removed from your property, please return the flags.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Please note – The Moore Company is familiar with these lines and have taken the time to train their staff in the case of an emergency with these lines and tanks. A few of their other clients have had tanks on their properties as well, and proper training has proven to be a success.
