- Governor Hogan Announces Steps and Commentary to enter Completion of Stage One of the State’s Recovery Plan:
Highlights of the Governor’s May 27, 2020 announcement include, the opening of the following, with restrictions:
Outdoor Activities such as Youth Sports and Youth Day Camps.
Outdoor Pools and Drive In Movies.
Lower Risks does not mean No Risks
Stay at Home as much as possible.
Continue to practice Physical Distancing, Wearing Masks in Indoor Public Areas.
If encouraging trends continue into next week, the State will be in position to move into Stage Two of the Recovery Plan, which would mean lifting the order on Non-Essential Businesses.
- Association Clubhouse Update:
The Association Clubhouse, in accordance with Governor Hogan’s March 12, 2020 Executive Order, continues to be closed. This past week, I contacted the Association’s Attorney for any possible impacts, on the Association, that any updates, changes or modifications that have been issued by the Governor, pertaining to his Executive Order, that could, possibly, effect the Association.
The Attorney, noting the large senior population of the Association, strongly recommended that the Association continue to follow the Governor’s Executive Order and keep the Clubhouse and its housed activity centers closed.
Additionally, he noted that there is a tremendous liability issue for any entity that opens, at any time, during the COVID 19 Pandemic due to the fact that most HOA Liability and BOD Liability Insurance carriers specifically exclude virus, such as COVID 19, coverage. The Association General Manager has contacted our insurance carrier for guidance and suggestions. News reports have indicated that this subject matter is a point of discussion with our Federal representatives and we are following closely.
Be assured that your Board of Directors appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding and that they are committed to the reopening of the Association Clubhouse, and a return to life as we once knew it, just as soon as it is completely safe to do so.
Any questions, concerns or comments should be directed to myself or any of my fellow Board Members.
