We have noticed that there has been quite a bit of misdelivered mail that has been left on the counter in the Mail Pavilion that people do not know what to do with. Some people have been dropping it back into the outgoing mail, while others take it upon themselves to hand deliver it to the correct address. Mail that gets left on the counter may sit there for days since the mail carrier does not notice it and this can be a problem for something that may be very important.
We have contacted the Post Office about this recurring issue and they will now be providing us with a U.S. mail bin (by the end of the day) so that all misdelivered mail can be placed inside for the carrier to redistribute in the correct mail box. If mail is delivered to someone that no longer lives in The Parke, the new owner or whoever receives it would need to write NO LONGER AT THIS ADDRESS on the piece of mail and put it in the provided bin. The carriers, of course, would not know if someone moved/no longer lives here unless they fill out a change of address form.
Please be aware that this bin is for misdelivered mail only and not as an outgoing mail box or for any trash/junk mail.
